A- Asphalt is less costly then concrete or paving stones, it is durable and easy to maintain.
4) Q- How thick should a residential driveway be?
A- For a residential parking space the asphalt should be a minimum of 2 inches.
5) Q- What is resurfacing?
A- Resurfacing is installing a new layer of asphalt on an existing pavement.
6) Q- How thick should a resurfacing layer be?
A- A resurfacing layer of asphalt is 1 inch to 1 1/2 inch.
7) Q- Does asphalt come in other colors?
A- Asphalt is generally black but color can be added with a dye.
8) Q- Can asphalt be installed over concrete?
A-Though not recommanded yes, asphalt can be installed over concrete.
9) Q- How long is it necessary to wait before seal coating a new pavement?
A- A new pavement can be sealed as early as the following year of its installation.
10) Q- How often should a residential driveway be sealcoated?
A- To preserve a nice dark look while benefiting the protection of the pavement, every 2-3 years.
11) Q- How is it possible to protect your pavement?
A- Other then seal coating, by avoiding melting salt in the winter aswell preventing vehicule fluids to leak on it.
